The Branch School

The Branch School, (Houston, TX) designed by Kirksey Architecture is a Fall 2023 Learning By Design Grand Prize Under 100,000 sq. ft. Award Winner. The Branch School is an independent private school in west Houston for pre-school, elementary, and middle school students. Their 21st-century learning approach and curriculum focuses on developing skills that “enable future leaders to communicate effectively, listen to other points of view, collaborate, and empathetically respect the dignity of all.”

The Need for Flexible Learning Spaces:

The Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District (LCISD) in northwest Texas serves a rapidly expanding suburb, with two major residential developments currently being populated for the first time. Needing to expand its existing schools and add new facilities, the district has been building 21st Century schools that enable collabo­ration, both in terms of flexible groupings of students and teamwork by teachers.
