Kirksey Architecture Elevates its K-12 Practice with New Director

HOUSTON (March 24, 2026) -- Texas-based Architecture and Design firm Kirksey Architecture is pleased to announce the elevation of its PK-12 leadership team. The announcement includes the strategic promotion of experienced Partner and Studio Director, Jody Sergi, AIA, LEED AP, who has been named a Director of the firm’s pK-12 practice. Sergi’s focus will be on pK-12 projects in Houston and the Gulf Coast region. 


Sergi is based in Kirksey’s Houston office and has been with the firm since 2012 when she joined as a Project Manager and Associate. Jody has advanced through progressive leadership roles including Senior Associate, Associate Partner, Studio Director, and Partner, and has overseen multiple market sectors. Over the course of her career, Sergi has managed more than one million square feet of PK–12 and higher education projects across Texas. A strong advocate for sustainable design, Jody became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2003 and has dedicated her career to advancing green schools, is deeply committed to designing sustainable schools and is a strong advocate for green building practices. Sergi believes schools can minimize their environmental impact while creating spaces that positively influence how children learn and thrive.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Sergi’s new role will continue to elevate Kirksey’s PK–12 Practice through her thought leadership and proactive approach. Sergi has been a part of several notable, award-winning projects throughout her time at Kirksey including, Humble ISD’s Kingwood Middle School, Houston ISD’s Milby High School Historic Renovation, The Branch School Hightower Middle School, Austin ISD Norman-Sims Elementary School, and Round Rock ISD and Fort Bend ISD’s passively-ventilated Aquatic Centers, among others
